Storytelling Skills Development Workshop

Welcome to our immersive two-day workshop designed to elevate your storytelling skills to new heights. Our goal is to empower you with comprehensive training in key storytelling elements, ensuring you can craft narratives that are both captivating and emotionally resonant.

Objective:

Enhance participants' storytelling skills by providing comprehensive training in key elements such as narrative structure, character development, dialogue, and emotional resonance.

Duration:

Two-day workshop (4 hours each day)

Day 1: Foundations of Storytelling (4 hours)

 

  • Introduction (30 minutes):

    • Welcome and Icebreaker: Set the stage for collaborative learning.

    • Workshop Goals: Define the objectives and outcomes.

  • Understanding Narrative Structure (1 hour):

    • Explore the Three-Act Structure and plot points.

    • Discuss the importance of turning points in driving the narrative forward.

  • Crafting Engaging Characters (1 hour):

    • Focus on character development essentials and character arcs.

    • Participate in a hands-on character creation activity.

  • Break (15 minutes):

    • Refresh and recharge for the next session.

  • Dialogue Mastery (1 hour):

    • Learn effective dialogue techniques and practice through exercises.

    • Explore strategies for crafting authentic and engaging dialogue.

  • Emotional Resonance (45 minutes):

    • Discuss techniques for connecting with emotions and incorporating emotional beats.

    • Understand the impact of emotional highs and lows in storytelling.

  • Day 1 Recap and Q&A (30 minutes):

    • Summarize key takeaways and address participant questions.

 

Day 2: Advanced Storytelling Techniques (4 hours)

 

  • Review and Warm-up (30 minutes):

    • Brief review of Day 1 concepts and a warm-up activity.

  • Storytelling Across Mediums (1 hour):

    • Discuss considerations for adapting stories across different mediums.

    • Explore storytelling in the digital age and multi-platform storytelling.

  • Interactive Session - Storytelling Challenges (1 hour):

    • Share and discuss storytelling challenges faced by participants.

    • Collaborate on problem-solving in a facilitated group discussion.

  • Break (15 minutes):

    • Take a short break to refuel and recharge.

  • Crafting a Compelling Narrative (1 hour):

    • Dive into advanced plot techniques and explore subplots.

    • Understand how subplots contribute to a richer narrative.

  • Interactive Workshop (1 hour):

    • Participate in a story crafting workshop applying advanced techniques.

  • Closing Session (30 minutes):

    • Present segments of crafted stories for feedback.

    • Summarize the workshop, express gratitude, and provide additional resources.

  • Q&A and Networking (30 minutes):

    • Open the floor for final questions and networking opportunities.

 

Follow-Up:

  • Provide participants with workshop materials, including templates, reading resources, and contact information for further inquiries.

Note: We will adjust timing based on participant engagement and desired level of detail. We will encourage active participation and create a supportive learning environment.

Price:

$850 for one person

We cap the maximum number of participants in each Workshop to 10 people to maximize its effectiveness.

iJOT Story Consulting agrees to hold all Confidential Information in strict confidence and not to disclose or reveal any Confidential Information to any third party without the prior written consent of the Disclosing Party. iJOT Story Consulting shall only use the Confidential Information for the Purpose and shall take all necessary precautions to prevent unauthorized disclosure or use of the Confidential Information. Confidential Information may include, but is not limited to, Story Idea and its purpose, MVSO derived from the idea, business plans, financial information, trade secrets, know-how, technical information, and any other proprietary or sensitive information related to the Purpose, which is to develop the Story Idea into a MVSO delivery to the Disclosing Party.
